We were prepared for a blizzard and got one for Louisiana. We did not lose power or develop water problems. Near us did as close as probably 20 miles. We were on pins and needles waiting for the worse. The main issue for a lot of people or everyone is that we were totally isolated. The 1st storm gave us snow and just under freezing. Then the next one was ice and snow that turned into a block of ice everywhere. Still again around us close it stuck to the trees some but didn’t stick real good. I think by the time the snow got to us the wind blew it off the trees that were frozen. After it went to extremely cold to just below freezing, my grand and I went out for a short time to take pictures and enjoy the snow and slushy ice. Okay, it can stay North for the rest of the year. We now are expecting thunderstorms and large hail. As a famous quote from a move, “I’ll be back.” Be safe and have a great weekend coming up.
Unexpected power off for a few hours. Someone decided to do cleanup on last storm and cut a tree down. So it hit a power pole down just down from us. As I said in my last blog, we expect snow, ice or something again in the state where you can go fishing in 80 degree weather one day. Then the next morning wake up to a snow or ice storm. We all here decided to take a nap and later eat sandwiches. When lights came back on, we started back on the house. I’m now finishing up my computer work at 3 AM.
Be safe and warm. Goodnight
The past few years there hasn’t been enough cold weather to kill the bugs. Just a few weeks back we had snow. My greatgrand daughter and I played in the snow. We had alway heard that the north always put on double layers. So we put double layers and heavy jackets with hoods. Also rubber boots and gloves. It was soft snow so it made a good snowman. Well now we are expecting to get a week of something but I think ice is going to join it. We are planning for lights out cause we are in the country. Actually we could use some warm weather and sunshine. I guess we will check fireplace, pull out the blankets and make another snowman. Have a great weekend.
